Here's how the night went down, and why you should get on the waitlist for what's coming next.
Zapiet started in 2015 when Andrew Cargill spotted a gap in the Shopify forums: merchants needed a store pickup solution that didn't exist. He built a prototype in a couple of hours. The rest is ten years of history.
Hitting a decade in a business that moves as fast as the Shopify ecosystem felt worth marking properly. Not with a webinar. Not with a press release. With a proper party.
We co-hosted the Epic Party with the team at Judge.me — and together, we pulled off something genuinely unforgettable. The 80s and 90s theme brought out the best in everyone: glitter, costumes, energy, and a dance floor that didn't stop.
There was cake. There were socks (obviously). There were giant robots.
The highlight of the night? Simon from Boutique 1861 — Zapiet's very first ever merchant — was right there on the dance floor with us. His decade of support is exactly what this celebration was about. The Shopify ecosystem has always been a community in the truest sense, and moments like that prove it.
Watch the Epic Party in all its glory — we're so proud of this community, and we genuinely can't wait to do it all again.
To mark ten years, we commissioned five artists from around the world — each bringing their own voice and creative energy to the celebration. A huge thank you to Hands on Urban Art for connecting us with two of them and helping bring the whole vision to life.
Smole 🇫🇷 — A Franco-British graffiti legend known for bold, layered compositions. Hunt carefully and you'll find the Zapietousaurus hidden in his vibrant, joyful scene.
Cento 🇮🇹 — A visual artist from Treviso whose long-nosed dog Canesio now shares the spotlight with the Zapietousaurus, cruising through the streets of Louth — Andrew's hometown.
Vanessa Vinhais 🇵🇹 — A conservator and artisan working exclusively with natural materials. Her eco-printed textiles are about preserving both nature and culture, stitch by stitch.
Patrícia Serafim 🇧🇷 — A Brazilian artist based in Lisbon whose dreamlike, genderless figures — built from reclaimed materials — evoke memory, imagination, and something you can't quite name.
Sue Amamou 🇬🇧 — A lifelong knitter since age 7. Her contribution brought warmth and craft to a night that had plenty of both.
None of this would have happened without the incredible companies who backed the night:
You helped us create a celebration the Shopify world won't forget. Thank you.
We couldn't stop at one.
The Epic Party: YOLO Edition is happening in Toronto on July 20, 2026 — and if last year is anything to go by, you'll want to be in the room. We're not ready to spill all the details yet, but let's just say last year's party is going to look like the warm-up. You've been warned. 🦕
A night like this doesn't happen without the right people behind it. Big love to the companies making the Epic Party: YOLO Edition possible:
🥇 Recurpay — Our gold sponsor and the subscriptions app built for Shopify merchants who want to grow recurring revenue without the headache.
Cleverific — Order editing for Shopify, done properly. Back again because once wasn't enough.
Tickets are sold out, but the waitlist is open. Get your name on it.
