No celebration is ever complete without cupcakes! The Cupcake Room is an award-winning cupcake shop that started out in the local suburb of Leichhardt in Sydney, Australia. Owner, Maria Georgiopoulos, renovated the brick and mortar store, created a website and offers same-day delivery Sydney wide.
Using only locally sourced ingredients where available, customers are loving the ability to have cupcakes delivered right to their doorstep. The Cupcake Room
Our very passionate head pastry chef and owner, trained at Le Cordon Bleu, thought baking was the direction to move towards. It started with baking at home for friends and family, and then moving into a physical store and selling to the public, who loved the design and taste of the cupcakes and cakes.
Our main ingredients are dairy, sourced from a local NSW family-owned dairy farm. Other ingredients such as sugar and flour, are all sourced from local distributors who purchase from other Australian businesses.
The Cupcake Room
We’ve been using the Zapiet app since we started with Shopify several years ago. It was fun working collaboratively with the app developer to help shape the app into how great it is today!
Since most of our products are so fragile, we only hand deliver locally in Sydney. Some products such as large cakes, have to be picked up from our store and other products such as party ware and other gifts can be shipped nationally.
The Zapiet app has allowed us to create all these rules based on each product's requirement as well as many other requirements such as setting up preparation time, specific pickup time slots etc.
The Cupcake Room started with only a physical bricks and mortar store. Since creating our online store on Shopify and setting up local delivery and pickup for our customers, our revenue has gone up almost 500%. Our customers love the promptness of the same day delivery service, as well as being able to order online and pickup from our store in 2 hours!
Cupcakes, cakes, cookies and brownies are our most popular products, but most of all cupcakes! Our wonderful customers send gifts to friends who may have just had a baby, or for a baby shower or for a gender reveal party! They may send their family or friends cupcakes to celebrate their graduation. Our corporate edible image cupcakes and cookies are also very popular. A business may use them for marketing purposes, or to send to another business to celebrate a new partnership.
