Meet Ronan!

Ronan is a Senior Merchant Support Agent here at Zapiet. Ronan works hard to make sure our merchants and last mile delivery partners are set up for success. We asked Ronan a few questions to learn more about why he joined Zapiet and learn a bit about his life outside of Zapiet.

Q: What is your role and what was your journey to working at Zapiet?

I am a member of our senior support team, I’ve been working at Zapiet for almost 2 years now, I joined in March 2020 just before the pandemic hit and the world went into lockdown. Zapiet is my first fully remote job and it has been such an amazing experience, we have an awesome team and the freedom that comes along with working remotely has been a dream. I have already relocated once in the last two years and having the freedom to live anywhere in the world is invaluable.

Q: You have helped so many merchants, what is a moment that stands out for you?

There have been so many great moments over the last 2 years. I really enjoyed watching our merchants businesses grow and flourish over time. The pandemic and global lockdowns were tough for everybody so it was a real pleasure to be able to help people to adapt to online sales and help merchants to continue to operate throughout the lockdowns and restrictions.

Q: What does a day in your life look like?

I start every morning by taking my dog for a walk on the beach, it’s such a great way to start the day and it gets me focused for the day ahead. Next its to a nearby cafe for breakfast/coffee before heading home to start my days work. After work I’m either playing football or on the beach/in the park with my partner Charly and our dog Mishka :)

Q: Who would you most like to swap places with for the day?

It has to be David Attenborough, I love animals and I love to travel and that man has seen it all.

Q: What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?

I play a lot of football so if I’m not doing that I'm out exploring nearby beaches and parks with my dog or down in my local Irish bar watching sports :)

Q: What’s the top destination on your must-visit list?

My dream is to buy a van and convert it into a motorhome and drive around Europe with my girlfriend and our dog and visit as many places as we can.

Q: What are you most excited about this year both professionally and personally?

Zapiet Eats!!! The team have worked so hard on Eats and its amazing to see it nearly ready for launch, it’s going to be an absolute game changer for the whole Shopify community. Personally I’m just excited for the world to get back to some normality and to be able to travel freely and to get home to see my family.

Q: If you could invite three people to dinner (dead or alive), who would be at the table and why?

My first guest would be Joe Rogan, I love his podcast and style of interviewing people so I think he would be a good guest, he would definitely get the best conversation out of the other guests. My next guest, if I can choose anybody, would have to be Jesus, I’m in no way religious but if the man is real he would be a great dinner guest, and I would save some money on the wine :). My final guest would be a comedian to keep the mood light, my favourite comedian is probably Kevin Bridges
